home home, happy happy

back. back, i'm back. hello.

went to the creation museum in kentucky, and various other places throughout nearby states. they had the most incredible planetarium at the museum. really. i've been to a couple, but this one was amazing. it kind of made my heart implode a little bit. a lot a bit. if you ever just so happen to be traveling across the country, and say to yourself, "well, good heavens, here i am in petersburg, kentucky!" then do go see it.

we stayed in hotels every night.
have you ever attempted to sleep in a bathtub because the four other members of your family were snoring and creating other involuntary guttural noises in their sleep so loudly that earplugs would have remedied nothing? i have attempted such. advice: don't try it. every one of my limbs was fast asleep after twenty minutes, but my consciousness was wide awake. conclusion: if you're going to not-sleep, you're better off not-sleeping in a comfortable bed than in a fiberglass coffin of sorts.

we played the suitcase game in the car. you know, "i'm going on vacation, and i'm going to bring an apple." next person: "an apple, a baby, etc.," in alphabetical order. jedd started us out with ALPHA MALE WOLF. good one, brother. i laughed pretty hard. it became our catchphrase of the week. (that, and "it's a southern miracle!" --also jedd's brainchild.)

shot a roll on my new-old film camera, a beautiful minolta in perfect condition, and i'm really really excited to get them developed. ah! really. my mom found it for me at a yard sale for $50, and it came with three lenses! three! i mean, i don't know how much the guy dished out for it all originally back in the 70's or 80's... but lemme just say, i don't think fifty bucks would even have covered half the cost of the least expensive lens. it's the greatest thing. and my mama surprised me with it! thank you thank you, mama. in case you can't tell, i'm dreadfully excited to be its new mother.

jellyfish are my favorite animals.
yes, they are animals. because i said so.

welcome home, and congratulations on the minolta. what a find! i'd like to take a look at it (and i'd be happy to go over it with you if you have any quandaries).

viva la film!

Glad you're back!
And the book is called 'Three'

I don't think sleeping in the bathtub was one of your more brilliant ideas. o.O

I've never heard that anyone elses' favorite animal was a jelly fish. You're in a class by yourself. Which, is a very good thing. (:

Ah yes, and take good care of your baby. After all, you are one of the few that actually know how to use it. *chuckles* I like how you refer to your cameras.

Oh, oh--and about 'Thr3e'

John F lent it to Faith and after she read it she passed it on to Sarah. And after Sarah read it I asked for it. And after I read it--I wanted to tell the world about it.

I liked it. But, you'll have to see for yourself. (:

anna, my new baby is terribly exciting now that i really know how to use it! i found the owner's manual on The Free Printable Owner's Manuals for Every Camera Ever Invented Website. (it's not really called that, but it might as well be.) thank you, google.

--and if you feel the need to tell the world about that book, i'd better read it, because i know that world-must-know feeling.

and mr. damien, next time i come visit the howard home i'll bring old 'nolt along. :)

I really don't think I snore...the rest of them...sure, but me un un...here's my theory; you actually WERE asleep and dreamed we were all snoring which woke you up and confused you. Then you were disturbed by the idea of all the snoring and the idea itself kept you awake and then you climbed into the tub where of course you couldn't sleep and it wore you out. When you fell back into bed and finally did sleep it was so deep I have the photo of you, who wouldn't awake come morning. But don't worry...it's hidden and shan't be shown...

yeah, i fell asleep eventually. when the sun started coming up.

don't worry, mom, out of the four of you, you were the quietest snorer. if it makes you feel any better. and none--er, few--of you snored any other time during the week, really, which was weird...

yes nat! isn't it just so-o-o lovely? just go for it--just listen to one or two. --no overdosing, of course. i suppose we must save it to savor at christmastime. or at least thanksgiving. or close to thanksgiving. maybe halloween. ahem. ;)
