have you ever sat in a hard wooden chair writing for such a very long time that you find your metaphors and similes turning into particularly ridiculous nonsense? good grief.
aaaaahaha.
p.s. a gold star to anyone who can guess what that simile describes! eh heh heh.

i always liked the green stars better.
is it just me, or is that first comment buried under orange letters?
Too early for similes.
On Acme: I really miss ours. The striking person at our Acme was an older woman of color who had the longest NATURAL fingernails of anyone we've ever seen! She would use these extremely long, intricately painted nails to press the keys on her register-click,click,click. I was always amazed at how versatile her nails were and you couldn't help staring because they were so long!
mr. damien, it's not just you. nat said, "i always liked the green stars better."
nat, i'll give ya a green star instead of a gold one, because you're a cool kid, although you haven't earned it yet. ahem. heh heh.
whoa! mrs. t.! we had the exact same situation at our acme, except the only difference was that it was a man. eeh. kinda gross. --i could never figure out how he could use the cash register, either...serious skills.
i miss acme too.
Was he at acme? I remember the long fingernailed guy just not where he was.....
those nails were real? i never knew! but i know who you're talking about...and yes, the first comment is covered in orange for me, too...
wait...acme has presence on the eastern shore?!! ha! fantastic news!!
there's an acme on kent island easily accessable on the right just before you get to the bay bridge (westbound). and there's a real nice big one in easton, and a sweet little dinky one in st. michaels.
but all these are probably on the endangered grocer list.
Annie- I LOVE your blog. You remind me of how I thought of myself at your age, only cooler, lol. I sent it to my daughters to read. You're very good at writing!
