sometimes, no matter how badly i'd like to become acquainted with new literature, books i've never read, classic and modern works alike, acclaimed and praised and recommended, stacked riskily on my bookshelf (all quite unopened and smelling lovely),
sometimes, i just have to read a wrinkle in time or anne of green gables or jane eyre again. just once more. turn the browning, moisture-warped pages, recognize a phrase that i particularly relished during last time's re-reading, and laugh at calvin o'keefe's happiness and diana barry's hysteria and outdated verb forms, respectively.
yeah--i severely enjoy re(-re-re-re-re)-reading books. and i'm okay with that.

yeah man. i say, if old Abe Lincoln did it, why can't we?
My blog threw me for a loop and decided to delete its dashboard. So, I have no access to posting on my old one anymore. It isn't an option (which is quite frustrating and bewildering). I think I can still comment though. However, the dissapearence of my dashboard discouraged me from creating a new one because I was still mourning the loss of my old one. But, I'll try to begin again soon. On a brand new blog that hopefully won't disappear on me too.
The funny thing is--my old blog is still there. It's just not letting me post. Lovely thing.
I don't want to talk about it anymore. Haha.
But, I thought I owed you an explanation. I do want to post. I've just had a little bump in the road at the moment.
It's too late to think clearly. Sorry about those ugly spelling errors. I see them. I'm just too lazy to fix them right now.
Goodnight.
i love wrinkle in time! but my kids never got into it. maybe it was my fifth grade teacher reading it to us that hooked me...i also love re-reading, but in my case, i often have forgotten great parts of it...:>)
yes. this all reminds me very little of word for word which is also worth returning to from time to time.
I am very happy to hear of your love for a wrinkle in time. truly is wonderful!! did you know it is one of my sister's favs?!
here are some books i can always re-read:
the giver
mattimeo
watership down
the pilgrims progress
oh yes, the giver! i love that one too! :)
and mr. damien, word for word is my other favorite book to re-read. heh.
also, anyone who doesn't like a wrinkle in time is officially ridiculous.
i feel the same way. some in book but mostly in music. that's why i've been listening to postal service, ryan adams, sufjan stevens, nickle creek and regina spektor over and over without the slightest interest in moving on. this is not good.
ALSO, want to tell you that me and eric have been sucking the life out of the mix you sent me for my birthday. did you put it all together. it's got SO much good songs on there. my favorite..and this is big cause i'm "not open to new music..is now now. so cool and flowy and cute. i think i'm driving eric crazy with how many times i play it. over and over and over and....
oh good! i'm so glad y'all like it! only problem is--i totally forget what i put on that mix. which is gonna bother me. except for "now, now." i love that one too. :) st. vincent is pretty great--she plays with the sufjan gang, and her name is annie. heh heh.
i had the same problem with being stuck in the familiar-music-rut too. reluctantly pulled myself out of it not too long ago (with joyous results). haha. still listen mostly to my staples, though! i don't think i consider that a completely bad thing, though, really... hmm.
