keep leaning backwards until your spine gives a nice loud crackling sound.
you might notice something lying on your floor that you never noticed before--perhaps a small wooden grizzly bear statuette lying on its side, wedged half-beneath the piano.
but then--ouch, goshers, all the blood'll run to your head and you'll have a terrible headache and then you really will not want to write your paper anymore at all.
p.s. d'you see that picture behind the basket in the last photo up there? it's a poem i copied out when i was seven. i did it at the howards' dining room table as a surprise for my dad for father's day. i accidentally spelled the word "house," which was part of the poem's title, with a lowercase H. "oh no!" i said. (i was really into capitalization back then.) mrs. kate showed me how to turn that "h" into an "H" simply by adding one line to the right side. it revolutionized first grade.

this post was so crazy i had to leave and come back to later to comment. haha. i just couldn't picture you doing a back arch all the way to the floor from sitting in a chair. i guess you did. your amazing! and full of quirks. which makes me think that i like you a whole lot!
yes, i got honorable mention in your post!! I always feel it is such a shame that little kids think they have to use their erasers so much-just put a line through it or turn it into the letter you want and keep on going.
I actually just found that little bear and picked him to his proper home on the piano! Thanks for somehow making the floor look clean and shiny. I can't imagine what wondrous photograpy effect you used to make that happen!
I never knew that about the "H". One learns so much about you through your blog! I will always remember you doing that poem with Kate though...Lovely, happy days those were!:)
hm. my brother was always skilled at fixing mess-ups on paper, and i was always in awe of it...still am, as a matter of fact.
kywie, the chair's only about a foot and a half off the ground. it's for a mini human or something (and i sure ain't one of those).
mrs. kate, i think little kids' handwriting is one of the best things in the world, and it's even better when no erasers are involved.
ma, the floors are pretty shiny in real life. all that socked-foot traffic'll do it.
nat, that's funny. when i try to fix things on paper, it usually gets a hundred times worse and then i'm awful sorry i even tried. (unless it's the letter H. then i can handle it.)
